Specification of Galvanis Pipe SIO
Galvanized pipes are steel pipes that have been coated with zinc. This coating protects the steel from corrosion. It is most often used for outdoor constructions such as railings, handrails, or for some interior plumbing.
To make galvanized steel pipe, steel materials are placed into a bath containing molten zinc. This process is also called hot dip galvanizing. Both metals are chemically bound to each other in this process, and will never be separated, resulting in a steel version that lasts more durable.
This type of pipe is not suitable for gas lines, but it is very common for the entire plumbing in the house until the mid to late 1900s, when copper is used as the material of the pipe. At the time it was discovered that lime scale buildup occurs faster in galvanized steel pipes compared to copper or plastic. A galvanized pipe is still sometimes used indoors for pipes, especially for the replacement of a small area of the pipe, where the flow will not be too disturbed by the passage of lime scale.
